Threat to herpetofauna of the Grodziec Slaski area, due to stated range, has been regularly indicated since 2005 to Silesian Voivode who carry out from legal validity of environmental protection resolution (article 93) tasks of the civil service in the range of environmental protection with help of the Provincial Nature Conservator. On the sequence of the issues took up during the correspondence answers concerning the substance has not been given up to now. Voivode answers contained as usual description of the administrative proceedings concerning investiton approval. For example, on the question in which way amphibians will be directed to the safe passages under flyovers without sooner entering on the clearway, II Silesian Vice-Voivode stated: “The range of available information does not give possibility of taking a stance on raising questions, and nature protection services do not have the knowledge that confirms possibility of occurrence of threats for keeping appropriate condition of herpetofauna species preservation in this Silesian Province area.” Then come the question about the range, scale, accuracy and sense of the performance of the environmental impact assesment.

Typical is attitude of Silesian Voivode and Nature Conservator who in June 2007 were informed about reservations to the quality of the protections along road, which should be sufficient barrier for migration of amphibians. Role of this persons was restricted to sending of the handed paper to the investor who in July announce service of the protections tightness. Only after newspapers intervention at the end of September an ostensible reperation has been made. Throughout 2007 year amphibians come to the road without bigger obstructions, then they were run over by cars in large numbers or they fell into sumps, where they also died – with Provincial Environmental Protection Service knowledge and approbation.
